There’s no doubt that the announcement ofSpyro Reignited Trilogyhas fans of the wisecracking purple dragon excited to see him return in the remastered compendiumfor the PS4 and Xbox One, but it looks as if fans might have to wait a little while longer before he swoops into action once more. Just recently, the publisher Activision and developer Toys for Bob officially announced that the game will be delayed until July 24, 2025.

Spyro Reignited Trilogywas originally scheduled for release on August 13, 2025, but Toys for Bob has stated that it needs more time to work on the game, with the delay affording them about two extra months to see it through. Toys for Bob co-head Paul Yan released a brief statement about the delay, stating, “In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”

As of now,Spyro Reignited Trilogyhas been confirmed to only be launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that more versions of the game won’t be made at some point in the future. After all,Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogyinitially released on PS4, and then came out for Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox One. Of course, with the original project itself having been delayed, it’s a safe bet to make that we won’t see the remasteredSpyropackage coming to other platforms soon.

Taking all of this into account, while there’s no doubt that many fans looking forward toSpyro Reignited Trilogywill be disappointed to learn of its delay, they can at least rest easy knowing that it will give Toys for Bob a bigger chunk of time to polish the project as much as possible before launch. Hopefully, though, this doesn’t lead to any more postponements.

Spyro Reignited Trilogyis currently scheduled to launch on Jun 02, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
