You may note that July 7 is marked with a little Moogle icon, too, and there’s a reason for that:July 7 is the 25th anniversary of the original release ofFinal Fantasy 9, which came out on that day in Japan way back in 2000.
And the intentions of this image could be totally innocent: it’s obviously supposed to be used as a convenient phone background, so you can enjoy some art ofFF9’s memorable cast of characterswhile seeing your month at a glance. That said,it’s really pushing the 25th anniversary ofFF9, which would kind of be the perfect day to announce anFF9remake.
