Bethesda has released the first post-launch update forStarfield, its massive sci-fi RPG that launched earlier this month to mostly positive reviews from critics.Starfieldhas been a big hit so far, breaking records for Bethesda and helping push Xbox console sales. Starfieldhas its fair share of glitches that fans have had to deal with since launch. Many agree thatStarfieldhas the fewest bugs out of any Bethesda game so far, but there are still some issues that have cropped up. Luckily, some of those issues are being targeted in the latestStarfieldupdate, which is available to download right now for PC gamers and those across Xbox Series X and S consoles.

Starfieldupdate 1.7.29 makes stability improvements when installing the Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, along with general stability and performance improvements across the board to reduce crashes and improve the game’s framerate. Additionally, bugs impacting three ofStarfield’s quests have been fixed in the new update. Thequests All That Money Can Buy, Into the Unknown, and Shadows in Neon should now be much smoother experiences forStarfieldplayers.
Bethesda has many future updates planned forStarfieldas well, and it offered fans a glimpse at what’s coming to the game down the line alongside the update 1.7.29 patch notes. FutureStarfieldupdates will be adding brightness and contrast controls, an HDR calibration menu, an FOV slider,Nvidia DLSS support for the PC version, 32:9 ultrawide monitor support for the PC version, and a button to instantly eat food instead of having to store it in one’s inventory.
