Long-awaited details aboutStranger Things' upcoming animated spin-off have been revealed. First announced in 2023, the animated series set in the world of Netflix’s hit sci-fi franchise will see Eric Robles, the Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen take up executive producer duties. Later this year, the long-awaited release ofStranger Thingsseason 5is slated to arrive, which will bring the main story to a close after 9 years.

AsNetflixunveiled its plans for the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 11, the streaming service confirmed the long-awaitedStranger Thingsspin-off will have a presence. The preview also revealedthe series will be titledStranger Things: Tales From ‘85. This would mean that the spin-off will be set in the year of the group’s Starcourt adventure from season 3, though it is unclear whether it will predate or follow the season’s story.
