Stranger Thingsseason 5 will see its main characters reunite for one last time, and that makes it the perfect time for the series to finally resolve one forgotten Jim Hopper storyline. ThroughoutStranger Things' seasons, Jim Hopper has become one of the most beloved characters, becoming Eleven’s father figure and surviving through brutal conditions in Kamchatka.

He has had no shortage of either intense action scenes or emotional moments, butDavid Harbour already promised an even more action-packed season 5for Hopper. Fittingly,Stranger Things' season 5 trailerteases a lot of action to come for all the characters, but there is one much calmer Hopper story that deserves an ending too.

Joyce & Hopper Need To Finally Get Dinner At Enzo’s Before Stranger Things Ends

It will Be Satisfying To See Their Season 3 Plans Finally Happen

SinceStranger Thingsseason 1, the series has been teasing the past connection between Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers. The pair have known each other since high school, andthey have been there for each other a lot over the course of the series, dealing with everything from Will’s disappearance to Eleven and Mike beginning to date.

By season 3, their tension was even clearer, leading to Hopper inviting Joyce to dinner at Enzo’s, though she ultimately blew him off. This planned dinner and the fact that it never happened later came up again, whenHopper revealed that imagining their dinner helped get him through his time in Kamchatka.

Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers' season 4 reunion was well-deserved, butit was understandably not the biggest focus in the over-stuffed season. As a result, beyond their happiness at being reunited, the show does not give them time to settle down in their relationship.

Even a small scene or confirmation that the dinner happened would go a long way in giving the characters a happy ending.

With just one season left, though,Stranger Thingsfinally needs to give its only adult relationship a bit more time to breathe. Part of this should include finally allowing Hopper and Joyce to have their dinner at Enzo’s. Even a small scene or confirmation that the dinner happened would go a long way in giving the characters a happy ending.

Stranger Things Season 5 Will Be The First Time Joyce & Hopper Are Really Seen As A Couple

They Spent All Of Season 4 Apart

After being very flirtatious in season 3,Stranger Thingsseason 4 saw Hopper and Joyce separated for the majority of its run. As a result, audiences have never actually seen the pair interact as a real couple. While their longing for each other and concern over the other’s fate was cute, they needed a better ending than that.

Stranger Thingshas largely done a good job of exploring the relationships of the younger characters, highlighting how their feelings change with age, but Hopper and Joyce have not gotten any of that same development. After their time apart in season 4,Stranger Thingsseason 5will likely see their dynamic change somewhat.

Especially considering the time jump between seasons 4 and 5, Jim Hopper and Joyce Byers might be more settled as a couple in the new season. While they began dating later thanStranger Things' main teenage couples, Hopper and Joyce deserve to be together the most, and their dinner at Enzo’s would be a wholesome way to show that.
