Major Theory Claims Amy Bradley Was Kidnapped & Sold Into Human Trafficking

The Bradleys Received Photos Of A Woman In 2005 Who Resembled Amy

One of the biggest theories surrounding Amy Bradley’s disappearance is that she may have been abducted from theRhapsody of the Seascruise ship, where she was vacationing with her family. Her younger brother, Brad, recalls in the docuseries that during their cruise, the wait staff were"notably attentive"towards Amy.

Amy’s parents, Ron and Iva Bradley, revealed that in 2005, they were sent photographs of a woman who appeared to work in the sex industry. The photographs were investigated by the FBI, who determined that the woman in the photograph was potentially Amy due to the woman’s startling resemblance (viaLADbible).

Another Theory Claims Amy Bradley Was Killed & Her Body Was Thrown Overboard

There Was Suspicion Surrounding Alistair Douglas About His Potential Involvement

Investigators have also explored the theory that Amy possibly met with foul play. On the night of June 04, 2025, Amy and her younger brother, Brad, attended a pool party on the cruise ship’s ninth deck. During the party, Amy was caught on camera dancing with a man named Alistair Douglas, also known as “Yellow,” who was a member of the cruise ship’s band.

Throughout the initial investigation, Douglas was questioned by the FBI, but he denied any involvement with Amy’s disappearance; he agreed to undergo a polygraph test, which he reportedly passed (viaCosmopolitan).During his questioning, Douglas reported that he last saw Amy at around 1:00 am, shortly before he left the party.

However, in episode one ofAmy Bradley Is Missing,a witness named Lori Thompson stated that she and a friend had seen Amy Bradley and Douglas walking down the deck together between 5:00 and 6:00am, around the time Amy was last seen by her father. Thompson also stated that around 15 minutes later, she saw Douglas alone, walking “briskly"away from the bow of the ship.

This sighting from Thompson indicated that Bradley was possibly murdered, but the FBI were never able to verify a solid connection with Alistair Douglas and her disappearance (viaPeople). In episode three of the docuseries, Douglas' daughter, Amica, came forward for an interview, indicating that she may have information regarding her father’s potential involvement in the case.

One Theory Suggests Amy Bradley Fell Overboard Or Died By Suicide

Amy Bradley Was Last Seen Sleeping Out On A Balcony

Amy Bradley was last seen by her father, Ron, at around 5:30am, asleep on the balcony of their cabin. The family reported her missing to the cruise ship’s staff at around 6:30am, but the crew did not release a public announcement of her disappearance until 7:50am, relatively hindering the investigation.

Amy’s parents and brother heavily disputed any theories that she jumped or fell overboard.

While the cruise ship was docked at Curaçao, the crew did a thorough investigation of the ship, lasting 45 minutes, checking each room and area, but could not find any sign of Amy. In episode one, the cruise ship’s director, Kirk Detweiler, stated that"everyone, at least from the crew"came to believe that all signs indicated that Amy either fell overboard or jumped.

Over the years, Amy’s parents and brother heavily disputed any theories that she jumped or fell overboard. It was reported that Amy had a fear of heights and was initially nervous about the cruise due to the ship’s large size, meaning she would have avoided going near the railings and disputing any theory she may have fallen or jumped (viaMen’s Journal).

Theory Claims Amy Bradley Willingly Left The Ship & Has Secretly Been Living Abroad

A Website About Her Disappearance Has Been Set Up

While there are theories that Amy Bradley met with foul play or was abducted, her family still hold on to the belief that she may still be alive. In the years after her disappearance, several witnesses have come forward with possible sightings of Amy.

In episode two of the Netflix docuseries, David Carmichael stated that he saw a woman with a tattoo similar to Amy’s on a Curaçao beach in August 1998, while a Navy officer, Bill Hefner, reported being approached by a woman resembling Amy in a Curaçao brothel in 1999. While these sightings were not fully verified to be Amy, her family have stated that it gave them hope that she was alive.

The FBI are currently offering a $25,000 reward for any information about Amy Lynn Bradley, or her whereabouts.

The docuseries' producers, Phil Lott and Ari Mark, have also examined the theory that Amy may have left the ship on her own accord and was possibly living abroad, supported by repeated IP addresses logging onto a website dedicated to the case from Barbados (viaTudum).

According to Ari Mark, the theory that Amy may have voluntarily disappeared “[wasn’t] ever presented as a possibility” until the docuseries was produced. He also stated that the series was created to help viewers better understand the case.

InAmy Bradley Is Missing,Amy’s mother, Iva, states that she is hopeful that the docuseries will"give [them] the one thing [they] need"in finding out where her daughter is. While multiple theories have been examined and questioned, the family remains determined to uncover the truth as to what really happened to Amy Bradley.
