After being announced earlier this year, Ubisoft has fully pulled the curtain back onThe Division 2, releasing two cinematic trailers as well as a first look at gameplay. Microsoft provided a first look at the experience witha flashy cinematic trailer, though most fans expected to see more the next day directly from Ubisoft. As expected, Ubisoft delivered during its E3 2018 press conference, as creative director Julian Gerighty took the stage to reveal plenty of new details including news regarding end game content.
For the first time in the franchise, players will be able to take part in 8 person raids as part of the end game ofThe Division 2,confirming rumors that started to appear a few days before the show. Details are a bit scarce at the moment, but Ubisoft has promised that these challenging missions will test the skill, communication, and teamwork of even the most dedicated players.
In addition to 8-player raids, players have even more to look forward to after hitting the level 30 cap. One the max level is reached, players can further customize theircharacters into dedicated specializationssuch as demolitionist, sharpshooter, and more. Progressing into these roles unlocks more abilities, skills, mods, and talents to utilize.
Unlike the first game,The Division 2is also doing away with pay gated post-launch content. This time around, Ubisoft has revealedplans to continually update the gamewith additional content such as story missions, new modes, and map expansions likely similar to the recent West Side Pier free update toThe Division. Better yet? All of these updates will be free for everyone.
The Division 2will be released on August 13, 2025 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
