Stranger Thingscreators Matt and Ross Duffer’s next project at Netflix is based on a crime thriller. The coming-of-age horror series starring Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven is coming to an end this year, withStranger Thingsseason 5, the final season, arriving on Netflix in three parts. The first four episodes will be released in November, followed by the next three episodes in December, while the series finale will arrive on December 31.

The script will be penned by the novelist and his writing partner Joshua Mohr, who will also serve as executive producers.

The Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionnerevolves around its namesake, a small-town grandmother and crime matriarch, who navigates unusual circumstances while trying to uncover the circumstances surrounding her youngest daughter’s death. In addition to this, the Duffer brothers also have two other Netflix shows coming in 2026.

Meanwhile, the Duffer brothers are also executive producing, alongside Haley Z, a psychological horror series about a wedding. TitledSomething Very Bad is Going to Happen, it stars Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco, and will arrive on Netflix sometime in 2026. Similarly, the Duffer brothers will serve as executive producers forThe Savage, Noble Death of Babs Dionne,a crime thriller that has fewer supernatural elements but a more realistic setting.

However, this doesn’t mean that the Duffer brothers are done withStranger Things. Even though the flagship is coming to an end, the universe is quietly expanding. Theanimated spinoffStranger Things: Tales from ‘85is currently in development, as well as a live-action spinoff.
