Gaming cosplay has become an inextricable part of convention culture, with a number of talented makeup and costume design artists applying their gifts to the burgeoning art form. We’ve seen someincredible cosplayover the past few years, and just when it seems like a character might be too complex to bring to life, a fan sees it as a challenge and creates something truly memorable.

Even still, cosplayer Lara Wegenaer has still managed to baffleLegend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildfans with her newest creation, an incredibly detailed and realistic interpretation of Mipha, the Princess of Zora. Mipha is a Zora, which, inThe Legend of Zeldauniverse, means she is a fish-like humanoid with a number of distinctive, complicated features. For those unfamiliar with the character, however, it might be easier to show rather than tell, given the deftness with which Wegenaer was able to replicate Mipha’s look:

Mipha might not be everyone’s favorite Zora - that title seems to have near unanimously gone to Prince Sidon - but she’s a beloved character regardless, an inspirational member of the Zora royal family that serves a crucial role over Link’s journey inBreath of the Wild. Now that said journey is over for a lot of fans and aBreath of the Wildsequelis a long ways off, recreating some of the game’s diverse and entrancing cast through cosplay and other art forms is a nice way to pay tribute to what many people believe will be 2017’s Game of the Year.

Wegenaer’s Mipha cosplay is another example of the way thatBreath of the Wild’s artdirection has entranced gamers since its release, and Wegenaer’s hyper-detailed take on the Princess of Zora might be the best one yet.
