Ash Crossan:I was thinking about Comic-Con, it’s obviously first day of Comic-Con weekend, we’re all awake still. But I was thinking, I always felt like for so many years, Riverdale was the finale event of Comic-Con. Do the feelings come back when you come here?

Madelaine Petsch: Yes. I was in a sprinter van driving here, and as we pulled up to the Hilton Bay front, I looked around for my friends, and then they weren’t there. I mean, I have my friends, these are my friends, but I didn’t have my Riverdale cast. This is my first Comic-Con sans Riverdale, and it’s definitely strange walking around without my crew. Oh my gosh, we had so much fun. It’s such a good time and they’re not as fun. Just kidding, love you guys. [Chuckles]

Ash Crossan: It must be cool though, when you walk around. people probably are dressed up as Cheryl.

Madelaine Petsch: Yeah, it’s such a cool reminder coming somewhere like this. I think it’s a really great reminder of this thing that we made that was bizarre and insane and received in so many different ways is still so beloved by this place.

Ash Crossan: I loved how insane it was, personally, the more weird it got.

Madelaine Petsch: As an actor, hell yeah, give me all the interesting, weird, f—d-up s–t. That’s what I want. Do you know what I mean? But I think as an audience, it’s hard to track sometimes, but I don’t know. I loved it. I thought it was fun.
