InAbsolute Flash #6by Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles, a flashback takes readers six months into the past. A bar is shown and inside, Rogues’ member Digger Harkness is flirting with a woman. However, her brother interferes and literally throws Digger out of the bar. As Harkness collects himself,he’s approached by the Flash’s father, Colonel Rudy West.

The mood is tense between the two and West acknowledges that their bad blood can’t be so easily forgiven. But West extends a proposal to Harkness, offering to wipe his slate clean. Digger resists at first, but when he’s informed that he’ll get a chance to play with some seriously powerful and explosive toys, he agrees to West’s offer.

Fans knew that thisworld’s version of the Rogueswere working for Colonel West. But this flashback reveals that he was the one that personally selected them. It also seems like he’s reaching out to people he’s worked with in the past in various military operations, a major shift to the Rogues’ relationship with Flash compared to the Prime DCU.
