There’s just no getting around the inability to share levels online

Nintendo is pushing outSuper Mario Makerfor 3DS right in timefor the holidays, and while there’s no doubt in my mind that it’ll sell well as a portableMariogame, this version leaves a lot to be desired compared to its superior Wii U counterpart. Players can’t directly share their custom-made levels online (only locally), and the many fun little referentialMystery Mushroom costumesaren’t in, either.

You’ve probably heard all of that by now. Sorry to drone on! But maybe you’ll pick up a thing or two in this overview video, like the new Yamamura lessons and challenge medals.

I hadn’t noticed it in prior videos, but the performance with theNew Super Mario Bros.style applied looks sluggish in spots. I’m worried about how that might run on the standard 3DS and 2DS.
