Stand up comedian and actor Chris D’elia has been recast inArmy of the Dead, Zack Snyder’s upcoming zombie movie for Netflix, with his role going to fellow comedian Tig Notaro.
Shooting onArmy of the Deadwrapped last year, but since then D’elia’s has been accused of sexual harassment, grooming and soliciting underage girls for naked photos. D’elia has denied all allegations, but nonetheless is being replaced in the film. The decision to recast means there will be a quick round of reshoots with Notar, most recently seen onStar Trek: Discovery.

Since the allegations against Chris D’elia,Netflixhas dropped plans for a prank show featuring D’elia andThe Goldbergs' Bryan Callen who has also been accused of sexual misconduct. However, three stand-up specials by D’elia recorded for Netflix are still available to stream.
It’s not known how extensive the reshoots will be but a variety of techniques will be used with some scenes reshot featuring Notaro opposite a co-star and others will have her green screened and CG’d in to replace D’elia.
Army of the Deadmarks Zack Snyder’s return to directing since Justice Leaguein 2017 which Snyder left after a family tragedy.Army of the Dead, written by Snyder, Joby Harold and Shay Hatten (screenwriter ofJohn Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum), follows a group of mercenaries as they plan a heist in a zombie-plagued Las Vegas casino and is a spiritual successor to Snyder’sDawn of the Deadremake. The cast includes Dave Bautista, Hiroyuki Sanada and Ana de la Reguera.
Tig Notaro has been performing stand up since the late 90s and has appeared inThe Sarah Silverman Program,The OfficeandBob’s Burgers. Notaro also wrote and directed the semi-autobigraphicalOne Mississippipilot for Amazon Prime which then went to series.
There’s no release date forArmy of the Deadas yet but it’s expected to be released late 2020/early 2021.
