The JunePlayStationState of Play had some massive reveals for several franchises, includingMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater,Silent Hill f, and the long-rumored remaster ofFinal Fantasy TacticscalledFinal Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles.The show was a strong start to the packed summer games event list, and we now have a better idea of what to expect for the rest of 2025 from PlayStation.
The show was streamed onPlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, and lasted around 40 minutes. There were some announcements of release dates for announced titles, new reveals, and a few surprises. One of the biggest ones was theannouncement ofMarvel Tokon Fighting Souls, developed by Arc System Works, best known forGuilty GearandDragon Ball FighterZand appears to be a spiritual successor to theMarvel vs Capcomfranchise, featuring 4v4 2D team-based gameplay.

Silent Hill F, FF Tactics, Nioh 3, And A Lot More
The show had a mix of new reveals and additional footage and information about already-announced titles. One of the biggest reveals was the firstgameplay and release date ofSilent Hill f, which will beout on September 25 and focus on melee combat. We also got a look at some gameplay for Capcom’s newest IP,Pragmata, which will be out in 2026. There was a strong showing of additional remasters besidesFF Tacticsas well, withMortal Kombat Legacy Kollectionbeing announced, featuring the four classicMKgames and several of their different release versions.
Nioh 3was announced, anda demo for the game was shadow-dropped and is available to play right now. More gameplay ofMetal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterwas shown, which also potentially hinted atMetal Gear Onlinereturning with the game’s release in August.Digimon Story: Time Strangergot a lot of new footage, and is set for an October 3 release, and will feature turn-based gameplay.

There Was Something For Everyone
The show was a solid look at what’s to come for PlayStation in 2025 and beyond, and it alsohad a good variety of reveals, new details regarding existing titles, release dates, and more. Smaller games were represented well, like the gameplay shown ofNinja Gaiden: RageboundandBloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, as well as the bigger AAA games. Near the end, we also got a look at007 First Light, which will be aJames Bond origin story.
Now that the sudden State of Play is over, PlayStation fans still have a lot to look forward to soon. Summer Games Fest begins on June 6, andDeath Stranding 2is confirmed for the show. The rumoredResident Evil 9may also make an appearance later this week, and several more games, so if what fans wanted wasn’t present at this show, it’s possible it could still be shown later this week. Either way,PlayStationfans will have a lot to look forward to.
