Ubisoft has confirmed thatTom Clancy’s The Division 3is in the works, with Massive Entertainment leading development. The French publisher also announced it tapped Julian Gerighty as the new executive producer forThe Divisionbrand. He will dive into the new role once his work as creative director onStar Wars Outlawsis wrapped up.
Ina Twitter post, Massive announced Gerighty’s move to the brand. According to the announcement, he “will oversee all games and products, includingTom Clancy’s The Division 3, led by Massive Entertainment who is actively building a team for the game.”

Development onThe Division 3kicks off afterOutlaws
Massive is currently underway developing bothAvatar: Frontiers of PandoraandStar Wars Outlaws. The Swedish company, acquired by Ubisoft in 2008, is also behind the first two games inThe Divisionfranchise. OnceStar Wars Outlawsis shipped, Gerighty will fully move into his executive producer role and help “build a team” for the third game. Until then, he remains “fully committed to makingStar WarsOutlawsa success both for the development team and fans.”
Ubisoft confirmingThe Division 3certainly isn’t a surprise, with Gerighty casually mentioning that the franchise hasearned around 40 million players.

“We may have over 40 million players, butThe Divisionis still in its early years as a franchise,” Gerighty said in a news release. “There are so many incredible stories to tell, places to explore and people to protect.”
There is some strong sentiment thatThe Divisionis here to stay and grow. With today’s announcement,The Division 3becomes thethirdgame in the series currently in development under Ubisoft.The Division Heartland, a free-to-play shooter coming to consoles and PC, is headed by Red Storm Entertainment.
