With Ubisoft taking note of the popularity of mobile gaming, expect a lot of Ubisoft titles to head to mobile devices very soon.Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siegewas Ubisoft’s first titleto make the announcement of a mobile port while there are also rumors ofAssassin’s Creedgetting its own mobile port in the future.

The mobile market is dominated by plenty of FPS titles such asApex LegendsandCall of Duty Mobile, with an incomingCall of Duty: Warzoneport in the worksto further the genre’s grasp on the mobile market. That being said, portingThe Divisionis a perfect way to open up the market as it’s unique third-person RPG experience might encourage more than your standard FPS titles to make an appearance on mobile.
Despite being hyped up to be a “Destinykiller”,The Divisionhas etched its own unique niche in the massively open-world RPG genre.The Division 2manages to maintain a stable player base for a title that launched three years ago and has at times has struggled with keeping up with content demands. With the announcement ofThe Division Resurgence, the reception seems to be positive as it’ll provide the same great core gameplay loop the console ports have while delivering unique modes to spice up the formula.
With that being said, there is plenty of skepticism surrounding this title. Given it’s a free-to-play title produced by Ubisoft, some fans are fearful of the game’s potential monetization scheme.The “success” ofDiablo Immortalhas scarred many gamers, and based off ofThe Division’s gameplay, a similar over-monetization seems almost inevitable.
