Originally set to take place on June 4, Sony is finally showcasingPlayStation 5games in a special event it is calling “The Future of Gaming.” The highly anticipated event will kick off at 1:00pm PT, giving players a look at PS5 games that will be available for the next-generation console at launch as well as titles that are within the launch window. The PS5 game reveal event will be a little over an hour long, so fans can expect plenty of exciting reveals.

It remains to be seen exactly which games will be shown at the PS5 game reveal event, but the rumors have been swirling about what might be shown. One of the biggest theories is that the PS5 game reveal event will show offHorizon Zero Dawn 2for PS5, along with a brand newRatchet & Clankgame. Others are no doubt keeping their fingers crossed for looks at a newGod of Wargame, or whatever Bluepoint Games is working on.

There are two huge horror games rumored for the PS5 game reveal event as well in the form ofResident Evil 8and theSilent HillPS5 reboot. Numerous, reliable sources have already leaked both of those games, but whether or not they will be shown at the PS5 Future of Gaming showcase has yet to be determined.

There are a couple of things that fans should keep in mind about the PS5 game reveal event. For one, thePS5 event will be in 1080p and run at 30 frames per seconddue to technical limitations brought about by PlayStation employees working from home. Secondly, Sony recommends that those viewing the event do so with headphones on, as there are some audio tricks that won’t translate when listening through regular speakers.

PlayStation fans are guaranteed to get some exciting PS5 gameplay footage, but it’s possible that the event could have some other big announcements for Sony’s next-generation console. For example, many will be hoping to learn thePS5 price and release date, though it seems unlikely that Sony will make those announcements today.
