Weaponshas now surpassed another major 2025 film at the domestic box office. The horror movie is the second feature film from Zach Cregger, who had his breakout withBarbarianin 2022. Starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin,Weaponsfocuses on the case of 17 school children fleeing their houses in the middle of the night, disappearing.
The response toWeaponshas been extremelypositivethus far. It maintained a perfect 100% Tomatometer score for a while, and is now at a 93% on the review aggregator site. This includes apositive review forWeaponsfromScreenRant’s Zach Moser, praising its “excellent lead performances.”

Warner Bros. has now revealed new box office data forWeapons, including beating out a major Disney title. The movie brought in an additional $25 million at the domestic box office this past weekend. This putsWeapons’domestic total at $88.5 million, just above Disney’sSnow White, which grossed $87.2 million domestically.
Weaponshas not yet passedSnow Whiteat the worldwide box office. However,Snow Whitemade a total of $205.6 million worldwide during its entire theatrical run, whereasWeaponshas brought in $148.2 million in just two weeks.

What This Means For Weapons
WhileSnow Whitewas notoriously a flop for Disney, this is good news forWeapons. BeatingSnow Whitealso means thatWeaponsis now one of the top 15 highest-grossing movies at the domestic box office for 2025. The next movie for it to overtake isDog Man, and that goal is definitely in sight.
This total also means thatWeaponshas done far better than Cregger’s first feature,Barbarian.Barbarianmade back its budget tenfold, grossing $45.3 million on an estimated $4.5 million budget. But even so,Weaponshas managed to far surpass this worldwide total in domestic numbers alone.

Our Take On Weapons' New Box Office Achievement
Weapons' box office success is great news for its director.Barbarianalready proved Cregger to be one of the most important voices in the modernhorror genre, butthis second feature is what really shows his capacity to make big money on his projects, which will be invaluable to his future career.
Beyond Cregger’s personal victory, however,Weapons' win is part of an ongoingly strong year for horror.Sinnersgot the ball rolling as an original horror film that became a box-office smash hit, andWeaponshas maintained this momentum. Hopefully, this will lead to other high-quality and super-original horror films being made in the future.
