Why The Addamses' Have A More Macabre Taste Compared To Other Outcasts
Many of the Addams Family’s traits are unexplainable: their strange aversion to anything bright and cheerful, their preference for darkness and death, and, of course, their funky tastes in food. However, even the characters’ original creator, Charles Addams, didn’t provide an explanation for why the Addams are the way they are.
Given that Wednesday was admitted into Nevermore before they knew she possessed psychic abilities,it’s possible that their macabre, even cannibalistic, tastes are simply part of their “powers.”They are not vampires, nor anything mythological, but something entirely unique.Wednesday could also be considered a witch, known in folklore to consume unconventional foods as well.

No matter the reason, the Addams Family’s lack of care about fitting into societal norms is not only entertaining to watch, but a breath of fresh air. Even in a school full of outcasts, Wednesday and Pugsley stand out and aren’t afraid to be themselves.Wednesdayseason 2, part 2, will no doubt continue the Addams Family’s most disgusting tradition.
