Nevermore Academy & Surrounding Forests
If Nevermore Academy and its surrounding forests looked greener to you inWednesdayseason 2, it might be because they were filmed in the Emerald Isle.InWednesdayseason 1, Nevermore Academy was filmed in Romania, but the school for outcasts was moved to Charleville Castle in County Offaly, Ireland, for season 2. CGI presumably added extra towers and rooms to the historic haunted castle.
In real life, Charleville Castle is reportedly haunted by a girl named Harriet, who died 160 years ago (viaMetro). The wooded grounds surrounding Charleville Castle also provided many of the scenes that take place in the forests surrounding Nevermore.Wednesdaysupervising locations manager Maria O’Connor said that the woods surrounding the castle were eerily similar to the original Romanian filming location (viaTimeout).
