Whitney Teaches A Plus-Size Dance Class In London

Whitney Always Dreamed Of Dancing At Famed London Studio

Whitney has always had a passion for dance, although she wasn’t always able to fully express it due to her size. She often felt self-conscious or afraid to truly embrace dance. But this is a new Whitney, and as she turned 40,she’s trying to embrace the things she has always wanted in life.

In the season premiere ofMy Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney recalled a trip to London 10 years ago where she would often walk past a famous dance studio, Pineapple Dance Studios, and dream of one day dancing there.Whitney’s dream came truewhen she was offered a chance to teach a class at the famed studio after sliding into the studio’s DMs.

“Moral of the story: Just do it. Just slide in the DMs.”

Whitney embarked on a life-changing trip to London and, in what she described as “one of the most exciting days of [her] life,” she was able to teach a “big girl” dance class to other plus-sized women.Whitney’s confidence is infectious, and the students in her class love her enthusiasm.

Whitney teaches a class full of women how to move their bodies without shame. Her class is so popular, the studio asked her to teach another one, which she did more than happily.

Whitney’s trip taught her thatthere’s a bigger world out there than just Greensboro, and she’s going to take it as an opportunity to make her dreams come true. Her dreams of being a mom is at the top of her list, and she decided that it’s a make-it-or-break-it time in her life. If she’s serious about becoming a mom, she needs to explore her options now.

Whitney’s London Experience Made Her Realize She Wanted To Be A Mom

Whitney Wants To Have A Baby

During Whitney’s three-week trip to London to teach at Pineapple Dance Studios, she meets a single mom, Mabelle, who inspired her with her story. Whitney has always wanted to be a mom, and throughout the years, she’s tried different methods, including adoption, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilization.

Whitney’s British friend, Mabelle, is a single mom by choice. She has a son, and she did it entirely on her own.Hearing MaBelle’s story made Whitney realize that she too could have a child, even if it’s something she does on her own.

Whitney’s latest option to explore is artificial insemination. At 40, she’s come to the realization that her time is ticking and she can’t wait around for the traditional route to parenthood, even though that’s what her father, Glenn Thore, would prefer. When she tells Glenn and brother Hunter Thore about her decision to pursue artificial insemination, she’s met with raised eyebrows on her dad’s part.

“I was kind of hoping you’d do the traditional method,” said Glenn. Whitney’s response? “Well, that involves a man.”

Whitney is defiant about being a single mom, sinceGlenn found out he had a childlater in life, which makesWhitney think he’s a hypocritefor suggesting that the traditional route is the only viable option.

“This is something I need to do for myself. Until I intentionally attempt to get pregnant, I am not going to be able to move in life.”

Whitney is adamant that there’s no time for her to find a man, and if she’s serious about being a mom, she needs to try artificial insemination or “put it to bed forever.” Glenn said he wished she’d try and find a partner, because single parenthood is a hard road, but Whitney said she’s out of options in that department andwants to give it a go on her own.

Whitney Decides To Explore Artificial Insemination

Whitney Will Do It With Or Without Family Support

Whitney’s trip to London (and ticking biological clock) haveinspired her to seek motherhoodwithout any limits to the lengths she’ll go. Of course, she enlists the help of friends like Tal Fish, who brings her an assortment of mock insemination objects, like a turkey baster, in a memorable scene, as shared byTLC’s Instagram.

All jokes aside,Whitney is still determined to explore artificial insemination, and as her first step, she’s looking for sperm online. Whitney’s excited at the prospect of buying sperm without having to interact with a man.

" I don’t have to take them to dinner first? I just buy their sperm."

Once again, Whitney gathers her friends, like Ashley Baynes and Todd Beasley, to do some online shopping.Whitney loves the process of shopping for sperm onlinebecause she can filter her preferences, so it’s an easy process. She wants a donor who is 5'7" and up, prefers dark hair, and wants someone intelligent.

She said she thought the process would be a lot easier than it’s turning out to be. Ashley suggested Whitney ask some of her male friends to be a donor, and they go through the list of prospects. Unfortunately,it’s looking like Whitney’s going to have to stick to online shoppingfor this major purchase.
