It’s been almost one year since the firstXboxindie gaming showcase - ID@Xbox - came out via Twitch, and Microsoft is gearing up for another stream in the near future. This specific Xbox initiative has been at the forefront of indie gaming for some time now and even hosted a special game demo event late in 2021, featuring over 30 up-and-coming indie titles in a playable format.
The latest blog post on the officialXboxwebsite has announced that the next ID@Xbox promo is slated for next week, and will feature both updates on currently-released indie games and some entirely new game announcements, with a few noteworthy shout-outs on who to expect to hear from.

Next week’s ID@Xbox is slated for March 16th at 10 AM PT / 2 PM EST / 6 PM GMT. While it’s not going to be quite as major of an event aslast year’s ID@Xbox Game Fest Demo showcase, the Xbox blog post specifically mentions game developers Finji and Whitethorn, two small-time studios currently working onTunicandLake, respectively. It’s worth remembering that the last similar showcase had information about major indie releases such asOlliOlli WorldandStardew Valley, so the news ought to be pretty interesting.
The blog also references iam8bit’s all-new indie game publishing label, whose first game will be showcased as part of this ID@Xbox stream, as well asthe upcoming snowboarding gameShredders.Robloxfans, too, should be getting a bit more news about their favorite title, as the blog mentions that viewers will have a chance to hear from its developers at some point during the stream.
With a wealth ofamazing indie games already on Game Pass, it’s not a big stretch to imagine that Xbox wishes to continue this practice for the foreseeable future. By investing resources in hosting indie-centric shows and expanding the developers' reach, Microsoft is easily ensuring not only that said indies are likely to cooperate with it in the future, but also that Game Pass owners have a good chance of playing said games as soon as they’re out.
