It’s the end of an era forXbox. On July 18, the vast library available on Xbox’s Movies and TV sections on theXbox store was fully closed. You can still watch your previously purchased movies and TV shows, but as someone who often browses these sections myself, this is a bit disappointing.

I had a lot of fun typing in unique keywords when searching, seeing what wacky stuff comes up, and it was a nice way to spend downtime while waiting for games to install. With the store closure, however, there’s another interesting detail that’s almost lost to time, and it revolves aroundYu-Gi-Oh!There’s a wild Easter egg that was once availableon an officialYu-Gi-Oh!store page, and if it weren’t for my personal picture of it, it would be completely lost.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Xbox store Easter egg

This Easter Egg Was Absolutely Flawless

Yu-Gi-Oh!is known for its vast number of anime series, but there are also quite a lot of movies. Thebest order to watch themcan be confusing, but one of the best isYu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time. An anniversary film celebrating ten years of theYu-Gi-Oh!anime (disregarding the Toei one), you had all three protagonists at the time teaming up against the series' biggest bad guy ever.

It’s an awesome movie for fans, especially since thefirst three anime series are the best, but this film is where Xbox’s Easter egg lies. Back in June 2023, movies and TV shows on the Xbox store usually had screenshots accompanying them on the store page. Within the screenshots that appeared inYu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Timewas asoundtrack image forBonds Beyond Time Abridged.

Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S

This is the hilarious parody version by Little Kuriboh, which has acombined 12.9 million views on YouTube, across its three parts. Abridged parodies of anime typically receive no official treatment, which made this Easter egg a shocking surprise when I discovered it. Eventually, screenshots were axed from movies and TV shows on Xbox store pages, removing this Easter egg entirely.

This Easter Egg Will Be Lost Forever

I Have The Only Piece Of Evidence This Easter Egg Existed

It’s a bit mindblowing how obscure this Easter egg is, and it’s likely because I think I’mthe only one who discovered itbefore screenshots were removed from store pages. I actually pitched this Easter egg to notable gaming YouTuber Oddheader on his website a year ago.

It’s wild that Easter eggs like this can be so unknown, that, if it weren’t for me, it would be Thanos snapped from history.

I received a response stating that he would save and look into it, but that was the end, likely because I’m the only one with proof of this Easter egg, with no other sources to back me up.My June 2023 picture of the Easter eggis the only evidence of its existence, and with the Xbox Movies and TV shows sections closing down, I had to bring it up.

It’s wild that Easter eggs like this can be so unknown, that, if it weren’t for me, it would be Thanos-snapped from history. That’s what evidently happens when store or game closures happen, but I will never forget this incredibleXboxEaster egg.
