Summary
OneThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfan has decided to pay tribute to President Hudson with a hoverbike design that’s equal parts humorous and impressive, not least because it appears to defy gravity. Their awe-inspiring creation is just the latest in a long list ofcomicalTears of the Kingdomcontraptions featuring President Hudsonthat the fandom has been building since the game’s release.
Stake nudging, aTears of the Kingdomtrick allowing players to build invisible connections between objects, is the latest major development in the game’s fast-evolving building meta. It’s a variant of the so-called “quantum linking” technique, a previously discovered method allowing Link to progressively stretch components linked with Ultrahand. While all iterations of quantum linking require a lot of patience, stake nudging still offers unprecedented efficiency, allowing players to reliably create complex contraptions without having to use major glitches.

In yet another example demonstrating the amazing potential of this trick, Reddit user divlogue built a bulky stepped aircraft composed of around a dozen Zonai Fans surrounded by four President Hudson signs rotating around one of its diagonal axes. The signs were originally fixed on a wooden cartwheel, while repeated use of stake nudging allowed the fan to incrementally increase the distance between them until they were far enough from one another to rotate like a carousel once exposed to the gust from the central Zonai Fans. Not only does the contraption manage to defyTears of the Kingdom’simmense gravity, but it does so with fairly impressive mobility.
The creator of this newestTears of the Kingdomtake on a President Hudson machinedescribed it as a “hoverbike,” presumably because it mostly utilizes components that would be found in a typical flying bike. However, the end result of their engineering efforts is unlike any hoverbike design that has previously surfaced online, both in terms of bulk and functionality.
Players looking to leverage stake nudging to build their own gravity-defying contraptions will have to arm themselves with patience. The technique comes down to securing two objects on a Zonai Stake, then gluing a second stake to one of them from a distance in order to stretch them apart. Saving the resulting design with Autobuild and immediately reassembling it before repeating the stake nudging method will eventually allowTears of the Kingdomplayers to put any sort of distance between two objects while still preserving their now-invisible connection.
